Mother epitomizes everything that is dear to us. Our ancestors worshipped Mother earth and all her creations. All our bountiful rivers are hailed as feminine incarnations and worshipped with reverence like Ma Ganga except the mighty Brahmaputra, the only male river of India.
Mother nature nourishes us with her abundant glory. At times in fury, havoc and devastation also follow.
Mothers are creators, protectors and nurtures of her progeny. She is tender and loving in her love, forgives easy and is fierce when her children are wronged. Let us embrace her love and energy.
I have yet to experience it myself, but I have been lucky enough to hear innumerable people telling about their transcendental experience of the Navratri days. Growing up in Northern India, I was always amazed by the great devotion that all our neighborhood houses would show around this time. All mandirs and pooja ghars were beautifully decorated. Delicious Prasad were prepared and served for all days. Definitely, a night long jagraata would be on someplace and we all children, would be too excited to sing and dance on bhajan Kirtan.
Even now, I know of my sister in law and plenty of people in her family who religiously fast nine days long. And are very happy and cheerful till the very end. They get blessed with a sort of different energy.
As a girl child, the ashtami and navami were my favorite days to dress up and go around from house to house, blessing elders and eating all delicious halwa, poori aloo Prasad. The aroma would fill the entire street.
Mat this auspicious time bring lots of blessings to everyone.
Happy Navratri.
Happy Navratri Amrita.
May Divine Mother keep showering Her blessings on you 💖🙏
